Our Work

Take a moment to see the work YMCA Tayside is doing in the community

The Coronavirus Pandemic made a huge impact on how we at YMCA Tayside were able to deliver our work and interact with young people. However, as lockdown restrictions ease and working face-to-face is now permitted, we are excited to be working with young people and are eager to see the positive changes this will bring.

 Universal Youth Work

Universal Youth Work is open to young people between the ages of 11 and 19 years old. YMCA provide young people with spaces to meet other individuals of the same age, where they can socialise in a supportive environment.

We are a Digital Skills hub for young people. Our project brings a multitude of digital learning opportunities into one place and is accessible to young people with a variety of different needs.

Aspire offers a wide range of small group opportunities young people, alongside the option of 1:1 mentoring. Each small group has a key focus on body, mind or spiritual wellbeing.

 Church Partnerships

For each church partnership, we hire a part-time youth worker who is managed and offered support by YMCA Tayside to develop the youth work in that community.

 Phoenix Youth

Phoenix Youth Project is delivered in partnership with Kinnoull Parish Church. We deliver various youth groups and weekly activities to support young people aged 10-18 years.

 Youth Voice

Youth Voice consists of a group of passionate and capable young people who seek to have more representation for themselves and for other young people in their community.

 Y’s Girls Mentoring

Using a youth work approach delivered by trained volunteer mentors, Y’s Girls has been proven to empower young women, change behaviour and inspire positive choices in those referred.

 Activity Agreements

An Activity Agreement will provide tailored support that meets each individual’s needs and goals. This includes further education, increasing employability skills, building networks of support, volunteering and much more.

 Prince’s Trust Team Programme

The Princes Trust Team is a 12-week personal development course, offering work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and a residential week.
