Community youth work in the North of Perth
We’ve been running youth work in North Muirton since 2023, offering a variety of activities, mainly focussing on a junior youth club for P6 & P7 young people.
The project came about after a rise in antisocial behaviour from young people in this age group was brought to our attention by Your North Muirton, a group of volunteers who manage the community hall and run a range of events.
Junior Youth Club
Weekly Sessions for P6-P7 Young People
The core of our work in North Muirton remains our junior youth club, bringing local young people together for games, crafts, and a hot meal. Every week the young people sit down together to eat, a key experience they don’t all get at home.
The group has seen various young people come and go but is constantly well attended.
High School Hot Chocolates
Something for Secondary Pupils
Every second Thursday we open up during school lunch time and provide hot chocolates for pupils from the two local high schools. We regularly serve 50+ young people as well as providing them a space to be, and to play pool, videogames, or just to chat.
