An exciting mentoring project helping Perth and Kinross' youth with their mental heath
Y Thrive will see 20 young people a year, across three years accessing mentoring services from YMCA Tayside to support them in managing their own mental health and wellbeing and tackle the increasing concern of emotionally based absences from schools.
Y Thrive is supported by the Self-Management Fund which is administered by The ALLIANCE on behalf of the Scottish Government.
What is Y Thrive?
What is the service
The young people on Y Thrive will access mentoring services and other YMCA Tayside services to empower them to set goals for their mental health and wellbeing by utilising self-management techniques for managing mental health conditions.
This comes from our fantastic volunteer mentors who give up their own time every week to meet with the young person and support their growth and development.

Referrals
How to refer a young person
For this service, YMCA Tayside are only accepting referrals that come from designated staff at each school across Perth and Kinross, these referrals will come from recommendations from Integrated Team Meetings. This is in the hope to ensure the young people that are in most need of the service, are the first to receive it.
