First Minister and Pete Wishart, MP visit Y Centre

YMCA Tayside were delighted to welcome the First Minister John Swinney, and Pete Wishart MP to our new Y Centre.

YMCA Tayside were delighted to welcome the First Minister John Swinney, and Pete Wishart MP to our new Y Centre.

The First Minister enjoyed a tour of the premises and was able to meet young people, volunteers and staff members.

The tour started in the Drop In space with Youth Voice who spoke about their time capsule and showed John Swinney what they had gathered that will now be buried for 50 years.

Both were delighted to hear about The Universal Youth Work Partnership, STEM & Digital, Employability work, The various localities we partner with Church and Communities (even a debate on how to pronounce Aberuthven) and our Secondary Schools employability and enterprise work.

This was a great opportunity to showcase the great work being done by everyone involved at YMCA Tayside and to give the young people a unique chance to meet with key figures to be able to influence change in our Country.
